I held an install day at my house today. I really didn’t have anything to do, so I decide to use a $22 Amazon kit to wrap my intake. Will it help, eh. Does it look better, eh.

Well hey, best case - it works, worst case - it doesn't work. So no harm in trying.

Isn’t alot of heatsoak in a short intake pipe, especially on an N/A tho. But hey, heat wrapped because RACECAR. I swear, that airfilter box just needs some sealing reflective foil tape and it’s atleast +25hp!

Never occurred to me before that’s exactly what this guy is doing for the heat.

Usually this stuff works better in that kind of application.

You use heat wrap on exhaust parts because you want to keep the heat in. On intake parts the wrap will slow the heat transfer, but once it does heat up, the wrap acts like a blanket and just keeps them hot for longer. That’s why people use a heat reflector like the stuff above, rather than an insulator.

No doubt. Price was right and I was board. Fortunately it’s easy to take off if I see the intake temp climb and hold too high. I’ve got Torque in the car so I’ll be able to monitor.
